2018 Banquet Recap

More than 100 area sportsmen and women turned out for the Susquehanna River Valley Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society’s second annual Conservation and Sportsmen’s Banquet in Williamsport March 10, helping us raise more crucial funds to create young forest habitat on public lands in Pennsylvania. Thanks to all who attended and made the banquet a success.

Highlights of the evening included a talk about the status and management of our state bird by Lisa Williams, ruffed grouse biologist for the Pennsylvania Game Commission, as well as an update on our local habitat project on Nettle Ridge in Sullivan County. We were also pleased to present our first pair of scholarship awards to Pennsylvania College of Technology forestry students Alyssa McGraw and Ben Engel during the banquet.

A big thank you to our Sustaining Sponsors, Chief Oil & Gas, and Rural Run Kennels!

Additional thanks to our Banquet Sponsors, E-tech Industries, Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative, Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative, Leaps and Bounds, Judith Sauers and Joe Piccolo. Banquet Sponsors of all levels are what make these banquets a success and help us put habitat on the ground.

Special thanks also to Ron Roan of Roan Inc. Auctioneers and Appraisers, Penn College forestry students and their instructor, Erich Doebler, who assisted with raffle ticket sales, and to the many donors who contributed to the night’s success.
